Nunasi Corporation is a 100 % Inuit owned Development Corporation.

Mission Statement

Nunasi Corporation is a special corporate body established for the benefit of its Inuit shareholders. Nunasi’s uniqueness is based on the tempering of bottom line considerations with concern for its shareholders’ environmental, cultural and social well-being. 

The one share is held in trust by the Board of Trustees on behalf of Inuit enrolled as Beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement. All three of the regional Inuit associations, Nunavut Tunngavik Inc., and the Nunasi Board of Directors each appoint a trustee to the Board of Trustees

Nunasi Corporation is committed to serving the best interests of its shareholders. As a development corporation Nunasi aims not only to earn profits for shareholders but also to enter into business ventures that will benefit Inuit.

As a development corporation, Nunasi aims not only to earn profits for shareholders but also to enter into business ventures that will directly benefit Inuit. These benefits include career and employment advantages as well as education and quality of life opportunities.

Corporate Structure

It is very important at Nunasi to have strong representation from every region in Nunavut. 

On the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors, every region in Nunavut has a voice and a say in future of Nunasi Corporation. Nunasi's management and Directors are constantly and consistently guided by what we believe to be the best interests of our shareholders.

Nunasi's Board of Directors is comprised of representation from the three Regional Inuit Associations of Nunavut and their Development Corporations. The Board of Directors is overseen by a Board of Trustees. The Trustees reflect broad representation from Regional Inuit Associations as well as Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. and Nunasi Corporation.
