Peter Tatty

Peter was born at duke of York bay on Southampton Island in Nunavut. His family moved to Coral Harbour and then to Rankin Inlet where he spent most of his life. Peter attended the Churchill vocational center and completed his heavy equipment training in Chilliwack, British Columbia.

He is the founder, co-owner and President of M&T Enterprises Ltd. which has been successfully operating for more than thirty years. Peter served on the Rankin Inlet Municipal Council as a Councillor, Deputy-Mayor and Mayor. In addition to his position as Chair of the Nunasi Corporation, he is also on the boards of: Arctic Spirits Sportswear, NCC Investment Group, Nunasi Helicopters Inc. Norterra Inc., Nuna Logistics Ltd, Nunavut Petroleum Corporation, Kitnuna Corporation, Uqsuq Corporation and M&T Enterprises Ltd.

Peter is married, has one son and two grandchildren.

Peter enjoys travelling, playing darts, cribbage, curling and is involved with the Pugwash peach exchange.

Charlie LyallKitikmeot Corporation

Charlie Lyall

Charlie Lyall is the current Mayor of the fast growing hamlet of Taloyoak, Nunavut and the President of Kitikmeot Corporation since its formation over 15 years ago. He is a long time board member of Nunasi and NorTerra Inc., having been on both boards for more than 15 years. In addition he is also on the Boards of: Arctic Spirit Sportswear, SecureCheck, M&T Enterprises Ltd. and Nunasi Helicopters Inc., and Larga Kitikmeot

In spite of his very busy schedule, Charlie enjoys fishing, boating and supporting children’s charities and community events.

Dennis Lyall

Born in Taloyoak in 1950, Dennis has spent almost all of his life in the North and has never shied away from leadership. Outside of his home town of Taloyoak, Dennis has resided all over the North – from Yellowknife, to Cambridge Bay, to Fort Smith, as well as further south in Edmonton. Educated in both Inuvik and Yellowknife he is a Heavy Duty Mechanic and welder by trade.

While being self employed to date and leading businesses rooted in industries from construction, to transportation, to hospitality, and tourism; Dennis has completed work for Panarctic Oil, the GNWT and the Hamlet of Taloyoak. In the past Dennis has undertaken several leadership roles in organizations such as: the Regional Council (Mayor of Taloyoak), Kitikmeot Education (Chairman), Nunavut Power, and the Nunavut Association of Municipalities (President). He is currently involved with the Kitikmeot Inuit Association, Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI), the Atuqtuarvik Corporation, the Nunavut Community Economic Development Organization (NCEDO), and the Kitikmeot Chamber of Commerce.

Wilfred WilcoxNunavut Tunngavik Incorporated

Wilfred Wilcox

Wilfred was born in Alberta and spent his younger years living in Spence Bay, (now known as Taloyoak) and Cambridge Bay. After completing his secondary education, Wilfred moved back home to Nunavut in the 1970’s and resides in Cambridge Bay. Wilfred is a certified journeyman plumber / gasfitter, holds a Diploma in Management Studies and has a Certificate from the Executive Development Program with Queens School of Business and Cornell University.

Wilfred has a long and distinguished career serving in senior level positions in both Government and the Private Sector. These positions include working with the GNWT department of Education, Kitnuna Corporation, and owner / manager of several business ventures. Wilfred’s background includes a diverse skill set including; financial and organizational management; business planning and strategic management, and many years of experience with serving on Boards, Councils and Volunteer Organizations Wilfred has been a panel member at several tradeshows and economic forums throughout Canada.

Wilfred is an active member in his home community of Cambridge Bay and has been elected to the Hamlet Mayor position 3 times and elected on Council for several terms. Wilfred has held the positions of Deputy Mayor and Committee Chairperson for Economic Development and various other Committees. Further, Wilfred held the position of Member for the following Boards: Kitikmeot Corporation, Nunasi, Arctic Spirit Sportswear, Pan Arctic Inuit Logistics and IEG Nunasi Consultants Ltd. Wilfred continues to volunteer his time with the Elks, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, and throughout his community of Cambridge Bay.

In recognition of Wilfred’s leadership roles he has been presented with the 2009 business person for BRCC award.

Wilfred’s personal interests include going out on the land, spending time at his cabin, reading about history and the culture of Nunavut and the people in the North. Wilfred also spends time in the Maritime Provinces touring and learning about Canada’s rich history.

Lynn KilabukQikiqtaaluk Corporation

Lynn Kilabuk

Born in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Lynn has lived in the North her entire life leaving only to complete a Business Administration Diploma in Kingston, Ontario. Her employment history includes work with government during the summer breaks from school, as well as work with Qikiqitani Inuit Association, Kakkivak Association, NCC Investment Group and Qikiqtaaluk Corporation. In addition to her membership on the Nunasi board, she also serves on the boards of: Arctic Spirit Sportswear and Northern Learning Institute (NWT) Ltd.

Lynn is the Vice-President of Qikiqtaaluk Corporation and sits on a number of boards where Qikiqtaaluk Corporation has an interest. She also works as the Treasurer for the charitable organization Habitat for Humanity and as a daycare director and advocate.

Elijah EvaluarjukQikiqtani Inuit Association

Elijah Evaluarjuk

Elijah Evaluarjuk was born in Igloolik, Nunavut and has lived in his hometown ever since. He has been involved with community volunteer work since the late 1970’s while operating the Igloolik Hotel. In 1998, became a Municipal Councillor. This lead to a stint as Mayor which lasted until 2004, by which time he moved from hotel operator to hotel owner of theTujurmivik Hotel.

In addition to his membership on the Nunasi board, he also serves on the boards of: Arctic Spirit Sportswear, NorTerra Inc., Larga Baffin, Nunasi Audit Committee, Baffin Business Development Corporation and he founded the local Alcoholics Anonymous and is a current chair of the Economic Development Committee and the Daycare Committee.

Lynn RuddKivalliq Inuit Association

Lynn Rudd

Lynn Rudd has lived all across Nunavut and Nunavik. She has lived in Coral Harbour, Kangiqsualujjuaq, Kangiqsujuaq, Inukjuak and returned to Rankin Inlet in 1997 where she was born.

Lynn is self employed and owns 51% of Ikkayuqtauvik Business Services Ltd which manages properties, provides bookkeeping and other associated business support as well as financial consulting to large clients such as Hamlets and Housing Associations. In addition to this she owns IBSL Leasing Ltd which owns 3 office buildings and a number residential investment properties leased to corporate clients.

She has worked for a number of Northern companies including Siniktarvik, Leonies Place, Northwest Co., Aqsuraq, NPC and most recently the Kissarvik Co-op where she is the Vice-President.

She was a member of the Northwest Territories Liquor Licensing Board in the late 90s and is now on the Inuksugait Committee which organizes radio games for winter shut-ins and New Years events.

In addition to her membership on the Nunasi board, she also sits on the boards of: Arctic Spirit Sportswear, Nunasi Audit Committee, the Rankin Inlet Co-op and NASCO.
