Mission Statement
Nunasi Corporation is a special corporate body established
for the benefit of its Inuit shareholders. Nunasi’s
uniqueness is based on the tempering of bottom line considerations
with concern for its shareholders, environmental, cultural
and social well being.
A Message from the Chair of the Board of Directors
Our task, as board members, is to direct the course
of Nunasi Corporation so that it can be used as a tool
for Inuit to attain the knowledge and experience that
will enable our descendants to have greater control over
the economy and commerce of Nunavut. As the people of
Nunavut adapt to the emergence of Canada's newest territory,
we too must start thinking about how we can become stronger,
both as representatives of our respective regions, and
as board members for Nunasi as a birthright Corporation.
We were all instructed by our respective trustees to
build an economic institution for the advancement and
benefit of our shareholders and we must keep that ever
present in our minds.
A Message from the President/CEO
As we continue to build on the vision that is Nunavut,
cooperation and communication are of the utmost importance.
This is the single most important element in all of this
trust. We believe in trusting our own instincts, trusting
all our partners in this great venture and acting in
a way that inspires trust on the part of our beneficiary
shareholders and all citizens of Nunavut.
I can assure you that Nunasi shall continue to conduct
its business in a way that generates trust in all our
relationships - with Trustees and Directors, staff and
partners, customers and shareholders. We need to move
forward with a spirit of goodwill and a desire for everyone
to share in the benefits of Nunavut.
