Kivalliq Inuit Association

 

Raised in the Kivalliq region of Nunavut, Kono has served as President of the Kivalliq Inuit Association since December of 2019 and served as the Association’s secretary/treasurer prior to that. He joined the Nunasi Board in 2020 and was also the Board President for Arctic Co-operatives Limited and the Artic Co-op Development Fund. Kono greatly values Inuit traditional knowledge and the promotion of Inuit culture. He and his wife, Bernadette, have six children and eight grandchildren.
