Annie Aningmiuq

As President of Nunasi Corporation, Annie is dedicated to strengthening relationships with government leaders at all levels and leading strategic initiatives that advance Inuit economic and community interests. Based in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Annie brings extensive expertise in public policy, communications, and leadership—skills that have shaped advocacy campaigns, organizational growth, and Nunasi’s successful rebranding.
Annie’s diverse professional path includes serving as Manager of Policy and Communications at the National Association of Friendship Centres, Director of Indigenous Programming at Canada World Youth, Policy, and Regional Affairs Advisor to the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, and working at Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated, and Parliament. She is known for promoting Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principles, supporting Inuktitut language revitalization, and creating space for cultural celebration. Annie has organized national youth summits, directed grant-funded programming, and fostered collaboration with partners across Canada.
Beyond her leadership at Nunasi, Annie is a mother, a traditional throat singer who has performed internationally, a jewelry designer, and an active community volunteer and board member for several organizations. She is highly respected for her creative vision, strategic insights, and unwavering commitment to empowering Inuit communities.
